The external review of the SAFAS Forest Management Standard by PEFC is currently underway. This forms part of the mandatory five-year cycle of system re-endorsement required by PEFC.

As part of this process, the SAFAS System is also being transitioned into a regional certification scheme, enabling other countries in the region to gain access to PEFC certification through the same framework.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the revision of the SAFAS Forest Management Standard. We will continue to keep stakeholders informed as the re-endorsement process progresses.
