The SAFAS certification system is endorsed by PEFC, the worlds largest forest certification system. SAFAS is the national governing body for PEFC South Africa.  To get forests certified and access the other SAFAS tools such as the Value Based Platform apply become a member of SAFAS by completing the following application form.

Certification starts by completing the Forest Management Assessment.  This assessment is linked to the Value Based Platform.
